There’s No Cure Like Travel

“And there’s no cure like travel
To help you unravel
The worries of living today.
When the poor brain is cracking
There’s nothing like packing
A suitcase and sailing away.”
–– Cole Porter

I’m off for a weekend to see one of my best friends, in Fort Worth Texas!  Yahoo, when I googled the Fort Worth website, the headline reads:  “Visit Fort Worth….Cowboys and Culture.”  I can not wait to experience that interesting juxtaposition of activities.

Last time I saw my Texan friend, was right after my chemo was done.  She made a supremely unselfish visit across country to see me, at the end of that summer.  I say supremely unselfish because once she was here, I pretty much napped and slept the entire time (in between having her drive me to Fox Chase in PA for my 2nd opinion regarding whether or not to get a bilateral mastectomy).

Oh yeah, I was a barrel of laughs that whole week.

That’s the kind of friend she is, ’cause she never once complained, and in fact made me laugh and laugh as she always has for the many years we’ve been friends..

I promise to post pictures when I get back.  Yee-hah.  Git along little doggie.
